Walmart actually carries a ceramic flat iron that runs about 14.99. I have it and it has worked nicely for me. I think it's from Revlon.
I know you said you don't want to spend 50 dollars but i got a GVP at sallys beauty supply and its lasted me 3 years and works great still and it heats up super fast
