Which is the BEST flat iron out there?

I have been doing some research but I find it a bit difficult to trust all the reviews and I have found that I get great/real answers from this website.

What flat iron works the best for curly hair? I have researched the Chi(and I have used it and it worked fine), T3 tourmaline, ';maxiglide,'; etc?

Please give me something more than ';OMG I love the Chi!';...Tell me why you love the product and what alternatives you have used.

Thanx for your help!Which is the BEST flat iron out there?
My vote goes with CHI flat iron. You can check here http://hairstraightenercare.com/index.ph鈥?/a>Which is the BEST flat iron out there?
CHI!!!!!! http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?鈥?/a>
I recommend using the amika flat iron. The chi is great, but it will burn your hair. Best of luck!

yw,

CHLOE
I recommend the Sedu.

You can get it at your nearest Ulta beauty store or online.

FHI runway, or platform. it comes in really thin sizes too! great for short hair. FHI is better than the chi. over a 100, but it is totally wort it for great hair all the time.
The CHI is best in my experience. I've been straightening my hair with one for about a year and a half and i could never go back to anything besides a CHI
a chi works great. i have curly and sometimes frizzy hair and when i straighten my hair with a chi you cant even tell i have curly hair. not sure how much it costs, but it depends where you buy it from
SEDU, CHI, HAAI, MHISD , ,DHDA. O:
i hear that the chi is the best but i have conair and it works really good!
CHI

cost about $100-$150

I have really thick hair. It comes almost to my shoulders and I just want to know the best flat iron to make it soft %26amp; silkyWhats the best flat iron out there for my type of hair?
I would go with the Chi flat iron. I'm African American and have thick hair and it gets my hair bone straight. My Caucasian roommate and Hispanic friend both own a Chi flat iron and they love it. I believe it works on all hair types. A ceramic flat iron is key. Your hair will be straight and shiny!Whats the best flat iron out there for my type of hair?
I recently bought the cortex international platinum collection 1.5 inch flat iron and it works GREAT for my hair!

I have thick curly hair and its hard to find a straightener that is good for my hair!!!

I LOVE this one!
The Sedu really is a miracle!! People think that my hair is naturally straight. Thats how nice and soft and straight it makes it look. Go on Folica.com

ghd's are definetly the best.. but they aint cheap!
With flat irons, ';best'; and ';affordable'; don't go together. I learned the hard way that you get what you pay for! In the long run, it is more cost effective to get a good one and pay a little more because it will last longer. I have a CHI that cost about $89 and I love it. I used to have a Conair that cost about $30 and it was a piece of garbage that burned out after I'd had it for a couple months.
i think that depends on how curly your hair is. mine is just wavy so i use con air. its inexpensive and its ceramic. if your hair is really curly try using hair straightening products before you dry your hair and before you use a flat iron to protect it from the heat and to keep it soft and manageable.
I dont know if its the best

but i know its really good becuase i use it and its not to expensive either.

';Chi'; hairstraighteners are really well designed ceramic hair straighteners.

  • What's the best flat iron brand i can buy?

I need a good flat iron, that won't burn my hair. What's the best brand I can buy? What's the best flat iron brand i can buy?
CHI. its what i use on my clients. it lasts long, durable and for the price (120-150ish) its the best bang for your buck. and it wont burn your hair. it cant. it doesnt reach hot enough to burn. they demonstrate it all the time in my salon with holding the iron on the hair for several minutes and its fine. just buy it at a reputable place. it you dont get it at a salon or beauty store, the warranty is void. ( target sells it and the warranty is void) but the return policy is great on them! anything happens they repair it for you!

good luck! hope you find one you like! What's the best flat iron brand i can buy?
    GHD.

Ive owned Sedu, Chi, and just about every expensive brand there is out there. My hair is long, thick, frizzy and a mess. But the GHD makes it pin straight, soft and beautiful.

Sedu and Chi are good as well, they are alot cheaper than GHD, however they dont last as long, and GHD DOES work faster and better..plus they are more healthy for your hair then Chi or Sedu. Invest in a GHD, you will NOT regret it.

You can buy them on Sephora.com
I have a CHI that I bought about 2 years ago. It was kind of expensive but definitely worth it. It works better than any other flat iron I've tried. I also use their iron guard to keep my hair from getting dried out and damaged. I highly recommend the CHI over any other knock off.
    honestly?

    cheap $15 ones at walmart.

i've tried chi at my friends house...

    on her and me.

i have pretty straight hair but it has many kinks so i straighten it.

a lot of my friends have expensive straighteners, and they're shocked at how good my cheapy straightener works.

    (:

    hope i helped.!

you can find it at sallys beauty store ranging

    from 50-60 dollars.

i have natural black hair and this strightner work really

    well with my hair.
Chi is the best flat iron you can buy and yes it is very expensive but worth every penny.
    Chi!

It straightens my hair in like 20 minutes in what used to take me an hour with my other Remington one.

I have really thick curly hair so I love this straightener!
Ive heard chi is really really good.

    But kind of expensive.

What is the best flat iron?

I have long thick hair and need to get a new flat iron. I am looking for a ceramic one that is an inch or more. Anyone have suggestions on the best one to get? What is the best flat iron?
Every answer you are going to get is guaranteed a super-expensive and yes, very good brand like Chi, Sedu or Solia... I would love to have one of these too, but I can't be bothered to spend $200 on one.

I don't know what country your in, but in Canada, we have a store called Winners. It sells a bunch of neat stuff like brand name overstock and expensive stuff knocked down to half price. I looked in there for a flat iron and they had a bunch of Cortex ones. These were the kind they sell at the mall for $200 too... that's how much my good friend paid for hers :) Mine cost me 40 bucks and came in my favourite colour purple! It works pretty good and is small enough that I can get it right to the root and get good volume. Don't pay more than $40-50 for it though...What is the best flat iron?
i have the HAI and it works great i have never had a better flat iron before. Although it is quite expensive (around 150 or so) it is worth it. i have had it for almost 2 years now and not once have i had a problem
Try J'ilbere de Paris hair straightener, it heats up really quick and will do the work even on coarse hair in ten minutes tops. You can find it in Sally Hansen beauty supply products store. It also leaves a glossy finish and no frizz at all =)
u can get either the red conair steam iron which is very good in steaming your hair while making it straight or you can get the in style one with the rotating iron but the conair one cost less and it works good too
really, flat irons just burn your hair and make it look worse. blow dry it.
i dont know think any specific brand is better

but the ones that steam %26amp;%26amp; have different temperature settings are definitely better

just because some are more expensive, it does not make them better
I use the chi, they're used in salons alot and they dont burn your hair, plus after your hair feels really soft. mine was 130$ but i think you can get them for 80
I heard about this thing called instyle and its not like a regular flat iron and i heard it looks really good
Chi Brand. Definitely! They are more on the expensive side, but definitely worth it.
GHD. definitely worth getting one, there great! especially for thick long hair.
    GHD
    Chi!

What is the best flat iron that is affordable? & a heat protector to go with it?

The best flat iron is CHI %26amp; the CHI protectant spray. It may not be really affordable but they last forever and THEY ARE THE BEST so you wont have to buy a new one the next day after the cheap one breaks :]

chi turbo%26lt;%26lt; thats what i have and i love itWhat is the best flat iron that is affordable? %26amp; a heat protector to go with it?
CHI SEDU GHD SOLIA are very good and are pure ceramic but if you don't have the budget get one from Sally's Curl Master flat iron is good the irons there are not pure ceramic only coated so after a while of use the ceramic will come off and you will have to replace it.

As for a heat protector l'oreal, Paul Mitchell, but really you have to find one by trail and error to find something that really works for you. What works for one person might not work for you.

I use a SOLIA flat iron and for protection Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum.

Visit www.folica.com they have reviews on flat irons. What is the best flat iron that is affordable? %26amp; a heat protector to go with it?
The CHI is a great flat iron, I own one, but if you're looking for a cheap, effective alternative try the Generic CHI at Sally's Beauty Supply. I have heard great reviews about it and they sell many heat protectants there as well.
Remmington's Wet 2 Straight flat iron is really good. (and really affordable, about $29) I've been using mine for years and I love it. My hair is naturally curly, and it straightens it really good.
Most Ceramic Straightners work good and protect your hair, I use a Remington Wet to Straight. They can very from 20 to 30 dollars for the cheaper ones.
Many people will say the Chi but I like the Corioliss! I have NEVER found an iron that actually works but this one does. I have naturally curly hair %26amp; even if I go to a salon to pay %26amp; have it done, it gets friizzy as soon as I get outisde. But with the Corioliss, I went outside in the rain, and not one hair stood up!! I LOVE IT! I think as long as you have a decent CERAMIC flat iron you should be ok.

  • What is the best flat iron (hair straighter) I could use for my hair?

Well, I have very 'think, curly and color treated hair,' and I鈥檝e always wanted to have that 'silky and sleek' look. Currently, I have a Revlon Stylix, and it doesn't work the way I want it too. I have heard a lot about a flat iron made by 'Chi' and I was wondering would that be right for my hair type? Also, my current flat iron now has about one inch plates. Is that ok to use for lots of hair, or should I get one with larger plates. I would really appreciate answers of any kind of help!

Thank you ;]What is the best flat iron (hair straighter) I could use for my hair?
I've been loyal to my maxiglide for over a year now and i don't know what I would do without it! I have curly, frizzy hair and every iron I had used before just flattened my hair and it looked like poop. The maxiglide brushes and straightens in one simple glide and it's steam burst smooths the hair. It's ceramic plates don't damage the hair, although I still suggest a heat-protector spray. Trust me, it works miracles. What is the best flat iron (hair straighter) I could use for my hair?
it really depends on ur budget if its unlimited go 4 salon quality if its not i recomend wet to straight by conair 4 a drugstore brand its really good

and u can always return it if it doesnt work 4 ur needs :p
This is the one i use, and it works wonders on my frizzy mess.

Plus, no need to blow dry!

What's the Best Flat Iron on the market right now?

Last I heard Chi is the best flat iron on the market but now people are saying different brands. I have thick wavy %26amp; curly African American hair. What's the best flat iron for me?What's the Best Flat Iron on the market right now?
    the Sedu amazing!

%26amp; yes i have owned it for about a year. its $115 at folica.com and you can buy it at an Ulta store but idk how much it is there. The outsides don't get that hot that you cant touch them, but they do get warm. Im not sure about curling because ive never tried it cos i have the 1 1/2 inch, but i heard you can with the 1 inch.

I like everything about it :) There is a ready light so you know when it's ready- its hot the second you turn it on so there isn't much waiting. My hair hasn't gotten dry or damaged by it, which is great haha. It doesn't pull or snag at your hair, and you wont get split ends from it like most flat irons! It's also very light weight, compared to the Chi.

btw- i have extremely thick, wavy, frizzy hair and when I use the Sedu, people dont believe me when I say I straighten it everyday, because they think it's natural!

the Sedu was rated the BEST flat iron, and the Chi above averageWhat's the Best Flat Iron on the market right now?

i used to have a solia, it was good for the time being (2 years) but then it gave out on me. i wouldnt reccomend it for someone woth curly, course hair. now i have the chi, which works EXTREMELY great!!! and also amika is very good. AND i think GHD is very goos, it works with all hair types, and its ceramic, like the solia and chi, so it doesnt burn your hair!

Try the Alberto VO5 heat miracle.. im not so sure about the 'heat miracle' name but im sure its an alberto product. the one which bottle is colored red.. its a spray protection against blow dryers and flat irons. You can also try the L'oreal Hot Straight, with the pink bottle. I use the hot straight and it works for me a lot becuse it adds shine but does not look greasy. www.folica.com ...you can read reviews about both products! What Is The Best Flat Iron Chi Or Sedu?
I have the Sedu one and I LOVE IT. It really heats up super fast....I put my fingers on the heating things and I felt it heat up in like...10 secs then it got too hot lol.

I'm sure the CHI is good too, my bff has one, and she says it's good..

But I love my Sedu better (: It's way lighter!

i've never heard of sedu but if it comparable to chi, it must be a good straightener too. you can look into the pros and cons of each one and decide what would be better for your hair type. for me, it is a chi. but you could check this-

    SEDU:

    1) Lightweight

    2) Straightens better

    3) Does not catch hair or break hair

    4) Have temperature control (good)

    5) Heats up fast

    6) Hair softer and shiny for my thick hair.

    CHI:

    1) Heavier

    2) Cheaper

    3) Straightens well

    4) No temperature control (fixed temp)

    5) Breaks easier

i found that on a previous article on yahoo answers written by salon gal. but you could pick whatever straightener you prefer
Sedu is by far the best straightener out there!

-It doesn't damage your hair (That's what it says on the box!)

-You can adjust the temperature up to 410 degrees Fahrenheit

    -It has a tourmaline coating

    -It's light weight

-It heats up in 20 seconds

-Can curl, flip, %26amp; straighten hair!

-It keeps your hair silky with every use! (No joke!)

-It's wayyyy better than a CHI or GHD straighter, because CHI's %26amp; GHD's damage your hair a ton, and you cant adjust the temperature. It got a lot of bad reviews, and they break very easily, believe me.

-It can cut your straightening time in half.

So get a Sedu! It got a lot of great reviews %26amp; VERY FEW bad ones.

And Sedu got an award by Allure magazine for best straightner, and an award at folica.com. MANY celebrities also use this straightener. And some celebrities at the Emmy Awards recieved one!

It's a $115 though. It's well worth it! BELIEVE ME! I've used a lot of straighteners and this is truly the BEST you can get!

    Hope I helped :)

And with this straightner, it makes your hair stay straight all day! even with the humidity. Just dont get your hair wet.

And just straighten it normally. Divide your hair into sections, and dont keep your fingers too close to the hot plates, or else you'll get burned! And don't buy a Solia straightener. those are just stupid! it's very easy to get burned because the hot plates are made to close!

    So buy a Sedu :)

    Take my word for it!

Just go to the website I gave you and look at the reviews. All of them are great! They also include pictures of hair, before %26amp; after straightening!

By the way, it's a Ceramic Tourmaline Professional straightener.

Don't get ANY other straightener other than this. Dont get a Coriolis, GHD, CHI, Solia, or all of those cheap non-proffessional you can buy from Target or Walmart, they dont work good at all!

By the way, those really cheap ones you can get damage %26amp; dry your hair out like no tommorow!

trust me, i've used A LOT of straighteners, and sedu is by far the best one!

oh and you can purchase one at ULTA or www.folica.com.
I have a chi and it works really well. But then I ordered the kiyoseki and it is amazing I have very thick curly frizzy hair and I think it is better then my chi it makes my hair very straight. They both cost around the same amount but I would recomend the kiyoseki.
I think Sedu works better than Chi because there are haircuts dedictated to the Sedu straightenr, not Chi. I've never use either so i'm not exactly positive though.
chi! i have a very curly hair (and a lot of hair..) it's below my shoulder and it takes me about 20 minutes to perfectly straighten my hair. i have a few friends who have sedus and they are not very satisfied with them..
i have never had a sedu but i absoulutely love mmy chi amd every one i know loves there chi
    Chi would prolly be better..
    CHI rox!
I like Chi, never heard of Sedu and I've done hair for the last 14 yrs. so I'd go with Chi...
WELL I HAVE REALLY CURLY HAIR AND THE CHI ONE WORKS LIKE CRAZY.. I DONT NEED TO PUT NOTHING IN IT. IT LOOKS SHINY, SMOTH
    chi
    well...

If you're considering purchasing one of the sedu ceramic hair straighteners, you might well be asking yourself the question, are they worth their price? In order to answer this it is important to analyze not only the cost of these sedu flat irons but also what you get in return.

Many people will already be familiar with the sedu hair straightener because of the publicity they have been receiving, especially due to the fact that many of the celebrities today are sporting sedu hair styles. You only have to do a brief internet search to come across the Jennifer Lopez sedu hairstyles or the Jennifer Aniston sedu hairstyles but you might still ask the question is this all just hype?

What Is The Sedu Ceramic Hair Straightener?

If you have ever purchased a hair straightener or have even enquired about one then you will know that they range in price from $20 to $150. These sedu ceramic hair straighteners will set you back around $130, so what do you really get for your money.

Firstly you get ultra smooth plates that guarantee to straighten your hair without pulling or breaking. This is something that most other ceramic hair straighteners do due to their uneven surfaces.

The ceramic plates use tourmaline which helps to generate more negative ions that your regular ceramic straightener which in turn adds more shine and luster to your hair whilst eliminating frizz. These negative ions also help cut your straightening time in half.

The sedu ceramic hair straighteners use infra red heat technology which helps to seal in the hair's moisture and prevent damage.

The sedu hair straightener is lightweight, and has an ergonomic design making it easier to handle.

The sedu hair iron heats up in 25 seconds, saves on electricity, and comes with a temperature control which can be adjusted for individual hair types.

The sedu hair iron comes complete with a safety IDCI plug which is designed to prevent electrical shocks.

The 9 inch swivel cord on the sedu hair straightener prevents tangling and the sedu hair iron also comes with a one year limited warranty

    The Chi

Chi hair straighteners are among the best hair straighteners on the markets today and this article gives you all the information you need before purchasing a Chi hair straightener.

Chi hair straighteners are one of Farouk flat irons and are a 1 inch ceramic hair straightening iron that can straighten, flip and curl hair. This ceramic hair straightening iron is one of the best hair straighteners but it also has its downsides. The main one being that Chi hair straighteners can only be used in the USA or Canada and will not work even with a converter.

    Chi Hair Straightener Features

Chi hair straighteners by Farouk flat irons use ceramic heat and this ceramic hair straightening iron maintains an even temperature throughout its usage time. By using ceramic heat, Chi hair straighteners also help to seal hair cuticles and repel humidity helping to prevent hair damage.

Chi hair straighteners are also ergonomically designed and come with a 10 foot electrical cord with a 360 degree swivel connection. The on off switch is positioned on the side making access to this even easier and this ceramic hair straightening iron is also lightweight which is always a bonus.

Safety features of Chi hair straighteners include a circuit breaker and the use of space age installation where only the ceramic plates heat up and not the whole unit. This is an excellent feature especially if the unit is left powered on accidentally.

Chi hair straighteners by Farouk flat irons are versatile and can be used for a wide range of styling needs. These include hair straightening, hair curling, hair flips, hair crimping, dreadlocks, and preparing hair for dry hair cuts.

All in all it is easy to see why Chi hair straighteners fall into the best hair straighteners category. Not only do they straighten hair but they are also excellent value for money being the cheapest of the three best hair straighteners on the markets today.

i thought the chi was amazing but by the looks of it the sedu might be even better.

    but your choice:)
I bought a Sedu at the beginning of this year. I read SO many reviews, and decided to try it out.

It broke in 3 months. Literally. The spring broke in it, and it wouldn't clamp down on it anymore.

It didn't straighten my hair all the way (it flipped out at the ends), and took just as long as my crappy straightener. The only thing that was exceptionally good with it was that it did put a little shine in my hair, and it didn't snag any hair either.

I have very wavy/curly hair. I'd suggest the Chi; my friends use it and swear by it.

What is the best flat iron for your hair?

Me and my mom share one and we need a new one really bad so someone please help me!!!???!!!???What is the best flat iron for your hair?
I've been using ghd for 3 years now and mine still works, but I've heard Sedu is better. I haven't tried it yet, so I can't support that. Whatever you do DON'T get Chi. They suck! :/What is the best flat iron for your hair?
Sedu or GHD, GHD are supposedly 'better' for your hair, but i love my sedu straightener.
    CHI. Hands down.
i think GHDS are the best
i have a sedu and it works rele good for me
well I got a Sedu for christmas and it works so well, better than any other straightner i have ever used.

The bad thing is it cost over 200 dollars
    GHD or Remington's ';Straight in a Stroke';
if your hair is very thick..curly and hard to manage you should get the CHI

    but if your hair is some what straight and tamed get the protouch! it is just as good as the CHI but less damaging and you can choose temperature setting :}
I heard Chi is good, but I use Revlon and it works great! It keeps my hair smooth for hours, make sure you use a good heat protecting spray when you straighten your hair though so your hair doesn't fry and fall out. I use Tresemme hair products, they work great.

    Much love.
I have a CHI. I really like it. It doesn't take long to heat up and straightens my hair very well. They are expensive but well worth the price.
CHI is a great brand don't buy any flat iorn with metal plates or whatever thy are called it ruins your hair.

science tool, from sally's beaty.. its the best, seriously!!
I love the CHI! I recommend it to everyone I know. I have tried cheap ones (Conair, Revlon) and expensive (Hot Tools) and CHI leaves my hair frizz-free and shiny every time.
CHI 's are really good, they heat up quickly and work amazingly! I use a HI-Shine flat iron right now and I absolutley love it!! It heats up very fast, is ionic so it adds anions to your hair which helps prevent damage and it ads shine to your hair which is perfect!!

What is the best flat iron for really curly hair?

I was looking for a flat iron, I searched at folica.com but then I realized I have to pay customs and shipping so it gets really expensive. Does anybody have any ideas where I can buy 1 without going broke???What is the best flat iron for really curly hair?
I have really poofy, curly hair. I use a full-sized CHI, and it's amazing. I use the super skinny serum by Paul Mitchell, then I blowdry using a round brush before I straighten.

I have to flat iron my bangs everyday, what's a flat iron that's less damaging? (Please no drugstore flat irons =))

%26amp; Not over $130.What's the best flat iron for everyday use?
I have a Conair Infiniti 2 inch Ceramic one and it works perfectly, it gives this really natural look, not just dead straight.

And it鈥檚 less than $50, I think.

http://www.amazon.com/Conair-CS32-Infini鈥?/a>What's the best flat iron for everyday use?
CHI definitely. It works wonders. It heats up way fast, makes your hair look healthy and shiny, and doesn't damage your hair too much. Of course, you don't want to use a straightener too much because any straightener is going to do some damage. The CHI is also about $100 I believe. Give it a whirl. And try straightening your hair in sections to make it look really smooth.
straightening your hair with any kind of straightener will damage it.

just straightening your hair in general damages it.

but if you have to then just apply some heat protection or something.

i recommend the chi silk infusion. it great! and you only need a little bit. mainly putting it on your ends.
I have a chi and it works really well. I haven't owned any other type, but my friend has a remington one and it works well

    Hope i helped :)
CHI!!!!!! the best there is it heats up right when you plug it in and you can get it from bed bath and beyond

Black Ladies: What is the best flat iron for our hair?

Is there one out there that reduces the amount of heat you feel on your scalp?Black Ladies: What is the best flat iron for our hair?
get a fhi with a heat setting or a chi turbo. both work very well on kinky hair. i almost never use a pressing comb anymore! They are ceramic and get hot enough to press coarse hair bone straight! the run from 100 to 180 but it is well worth it. Your press will last a long time the warranty on the are great so you can get a replacement if you ever have a problem. try www.folica.com for either one.Black Ladies: What is the best flat iron for our hair?
the one that i use is from con air but i don't think it reduces heat. but its so good on my hair. and when i need it to get supa dupa straight, its the perfect tool. as well as when i want more volume.it has regular heat and turbo heat. its the best.
the best one that i think will be maxiglide, it does not hurt your skin, has detangling pins, and it comes along with lots of free gifts. order it at interwood.com
    I'm not black. . .

But I really like the Paul Mitchell Flat Iron..$200 My favorite would be the Chi $99

If You don't want too splurge too much...

Try Vedall Sassion... Ceramic Flat Iron. $30
Well, their are different types of black hair. So u really cant say but a perfect thing to use is to get a relaxer if u have really kinky hair thanx.

I'd say don't buy the FHI straighteners they constantly break.

Try the Maxiglide. I had it for 2-3 years until it broke and it worked great. I am using a GHD which is much more pricier but I keep thinking I need to get me a maxiglide again.
Zoe is the best . but its expensive . i use essentials and it works great and is not as expensive .

Best Flat Iron for really really thick hair?

I have really thick hair (Like, A LOT O_O)

Flat irons work but they are giving me mass split ends.

It might just be my hot iron I have now, which is why I want a new flat iron.

Any suggestions ?Best Flat Iron for really really thick hair?
I have really thick hair that i straighten almost every day. I use the Torlan ($120 i bought it from my hairdresser) and it works really well. I have very few split ends because i get my hair cut about every 2 months ad i also put heat protector in my hair. Every straightner will give you split ends if you don't use protector and if you overuse it.Best Flat Iron for really really thick hair?
try the chi it is by far the best one but i think that it is quite expensive.
    Chi or solia
    conair

What is the best flat iron for hair?

I have one by conair it cost about 30$ and it doesn't seem to do a good job. I have long thick hair and it takes long and it doesn't even look like it comes out good.

The one the play on tv during commercials its called infinity and it dries and flatten the hair, is that one good? and i cant seem to find it on the net. What is the best flat iron for hair?
The best flat iorn I have knowledge of would be the CHI. You can find them online or at a beauty supply store. I think Target even carries them now. This will cost you upwards of $100 though, but it is well worth it! It leaves your hair super straight and very smooth. What is the best flat iron for hair?
Conair is NOT quality, Also the steam flat iron is a waist of money! Cheap and damages your hair! I really do suggest you invest in a new flat iron, NOT conair! Get a GHD they are amazing (cost over 200 dollars) but well worth it! They are amazing and once you have had one you will wonder how you ever lived with out one! I have had many flat irons and by far GHD is the best i have ever used! I have been using it for 6 months now i use it EVERYDAY! 10 minutes apposed to my usual 40 minutes it took with my conair! Its great! I recommend it!!!

I SWEAR BY MY GHD honestly!

Btw dont listen to anyone when they say chi, honestly your just paying for the name! Its popular so people will pay more for it, i mean its a good iron but if your going to spend that much money Invest in somthing acouple dollars more and its results are much better!
Go to trade secrets or some store like that and look at their brands.. but i'm warning you right now: the REALLY good ones are really expensive... they are well worth it if you straighten it a lot though.. they heat up quicker and you need to use fewer strokes to get it straight..

on the cheaper end BABELISS is a good brand..
The Infinity is alright, but it's super expensive.

I had the Remington Wet-2-Straight for awhile, and that worked well for me, but the plates aren't ceramic coated so I didn't really like it on my dry hair, but it was perfect for my wet hair. It was about 26$ at Walmart.

Another one I used to have was a Conair, it had purple ceramic plates [that's the only way I can differentiate it haha] and it worked really well for me, but one day I turned it on and it just stopped working!! But for 2 1/2 years, it was AMAZiNG. About $25 at Target or Walmart.

Now a friend of mine has very hard-to-straighten hair, and the straightener she uses is some fancy expensive thing, it cost her over 100$ and I tried it and absolutely hate it. I don't know what kind it was, but for that kind of cost, it stunk. It failed dismally.

My aunt is a hairdresser and the one she uses, I also don't like. It doesn't clamp tight enough, in my opinion. My hair is really easy to straighten but it took me almost an hour with hers. It's a professional and everything... but man I tell you, don't try something professional unless you've tried it out somewhere... they're way too much money for nothing...

The one I am currently using is a 1'; straightener. It's by Andis, it has ceramic plates and it works so well. It's a little smaller than I'd like but it works really well on my dry hair, its more shiny and healthy looking. I just got it at Walmart for $15.12. Can't complain there. :)

If you can't find one that works for you, talk to your hairstylist. She can probably recommend one that will work best for your hair type.

Your best bet is to go to a beauty shop and ask what they are using. Beauticians usually have access to better quality styling tools. It all depends on your hair type. I have a CHI and it works good for me, but my friend uses just one from like Target or something and it works really well for her. so tell me your hair type and I'll be able to help you better. ;)
for the shampoo, you don't have to go for the super expensive stuff, go with the cheap stuff... its all the same. i use Sunsilk Hairapy in the dark purple bottle. that works nice. Paul Mitchel silky smooth is another good shampoo i like to use. my hair is really stubborn so believe me when i say what are good shampoos.

What is the best Flat Iron to make your hair Very Straight?

As a stylist, I have used a lot of flat irons/hair straighteners, including Sedu, Hai, Infrashine, Chi, Paul Mitchell, Solia, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss Ghd, T3, Kenta etc. You should get a Professional hair straightener, they style much better and faster, and most importantly, they protect your hair.

    In terms of performance:

The best ones are: Sedu, Kenta, Solia, Infrashine, Ghd. These are top of the line professional brands

Above average: Chi, Hai, Paul Mitchell,

Average: T3, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss

Below Average: Conair, Vidal Sassoon, Revlon, Bed Head etc. These are cheap consumer brands that you will find in drugstore. If you care about your hair, do NOT buy them.

    SEDU!!! def
You have a chi and u want a better one? Well Chi;s are really really good. But if u want a even better one its going to be really expensive. Try going to Sephora or a Expensive salon for a really good straightner but You dont want ur hair to fry. so use a prtective spray on it. But Chi;s are really good too, you dont want to have a really hot iron its bad for ur hair especially if u straightner it alot.

Or even if u dont want to spend that much money on a straightner... use a iron.. for clothes. It really works well:)

    good luck
I really like the Chi flat irons, but otherwise HairArt makes reaaaally good flat irons as well. I have a BabylissPro flat iron it's pretty good too.
Christmas is a great time for a new iron...

How old is your CHI? Is it a 1 inch, or larger? There are quite a few to suggest. First, you are using 1 of the best currently. You may just need to use a larger flat iron, like a 2 inch. If your hair is thick, what products are you currently using, example... Sham, Cond and any styling as well. Styling products can real dry the hair out. I will make a great suggestion. The brand of the iron is T3. This means tourmaline. This is has the best warranty out there. It is higher priced than Chi. T3's warranty is 48 months, and Chi is 1 year. Try the internet at www.farouksystems.com (chi's website) Hope this helps, good luck...

This straightener is used by the proffessionals and worth the price because it will last longer and work much better. What is the best flat iron for caucasion hair?
Ally's absolutely right. The Chi is the best. It is a ceramic iron and yes, all the girls at my salon use it. It's great because it has a temperature control option which a lot of cheaper irons don't have. Just make sure when you use it that your hair is completely dry and you run it through the hair quickly on a relatively high temperature. Never hold the iron on one place for too long. You can generally get it for a little over $100 - I know for sure they sell them at Ulta...

Best flat irons for African Americans that are not expensive?

My mother refuses to pay $130 for a flat iron. I would much rather go to the salon, pay her $20 for a wash, condition and straightening so I guess Chi is out. I was looking at a flat iron at Target for $20 because it works good on natural African American hair and I have a relaxer so that's fine.

But someone told me something about it may or may not protect my hair like something that's $70+. The problem is, I'm not buying it. My mother is so price is a big problem. I was also considering a ConAir, but I was told they don't work well for my thick hair that is relaxed, by the way. So what would you suggest? Here's where I was looking:

    EDIT:

Be sure to read reviews of products at the Sally's website, don't get one from Wal- Mart, they're cheap an don't last long!

okay i need YOUR opinion america! lol.

i'm looking for the BEST flat iron

my problem is that everytime it rains, and i straighten my hair it flips and curls on the ends. i use a frizz ease thing but no good.

and i need a straighener that will STAY straight

i heard of ghd or chi

but i need the best top notch out on the market.

    thank you so much!!

What is the best flat iron that will not damage my hair?

i've tried cheap walmart straightners and all they do is fry my hair. wat is a good not so expensive straightner? What is the best flat iron that will not damage my hair?
No matter what flat iron you get, it's going to damage your hair. That's what heat does.

My best advice would first be to use a product to protect your hair before flat ironing it. It does make a world of difference. If you don't want to spend a lot of money on product, Tresemme has a good line for heat damage protection and it's fairly inexpensive.

As for a flat iron, yes, Chi irons are amazing, but they cost. I'm not sure where you live, but if there's a place like Sally's Beauty Supply nearby (or any cosmetology supply store that's open to the public) there are fairly inexpensive flat irons that work so much better than anything from WalMart. Mine was $20-$30 dollars, I use it every day, and I have amazingly healthy hair. =]What is the best flat iron that will not damage my hair?
I actually use maxi flat iron. I am a African American and I dont get perms. They work great mine came as a set regular size and a small one for you hairline edges. I really love it because one side has a comb as a plate and one is smooth. I have tried about 5 different ones but this makes my hair silky straight! Also make sure you are using a great conditioner as well, that makes a big difference!
I would recommend ghds but i have them and they fry my hair aswell so im not completely sure.

i dunno if you can get them in america but here we have babyliss pro 230 and they let out moisture aswell which will protect your hair better

    =D
i use FHI's they are SO good, they don't damage your hair as much as GHD's but they are exactly the same in every other way :) about 拢50. maybe cheaper now as i brought them about a year 2 years ago. :)
ghd's; I've got two pairs and both have lasted for more than 3 years now.

Thus is the new pair, but if you're on a budget I suggest ebay. :)

What is the best flat iron there can I buy in stores like Target, Wal-mart, etc.?

my sister uses the wet2straight vidal sasson flat iron .

    It works wonders!

What is the best flat iron for me to get?

I have hair that is thin and about down to my chest.its very layered and even wen i straighten it the layers like to flipout. i used the chi once and it made my hair very dry so i would prefer not to get that. any other suggestions???What is the best flat iron for me to get?
If you're willing to spend the money, I'd so go for the Sedu. I didn't believe all the hype, but it really is great. I have thick, ';coarse';, naturally curly, hard-to-straighten hair %26amp; it does wonders. It also doesn't dry my hair out or kill my curls + it doesn't snag or make your hair smell bad. Besides the snagging, the Chi does all of that.

If you want to spend less than $100, I suggest the GVP. Its compared to the Chi, but so much better. Doesn't do any of the above mentioned %26amp; leaves my hair soft %26amp; slightly silky, which my hair never is. You can pick it up at Sally Beauty supply.

Hope I helped %26amp; good luck! [:What is the best flat iron for me to get?
If the chi made tour hair dry, almost every GOOD straightener will. The key is to find products that you can use in conjunction with your straightener, such as heat protection products and damage remedies. I know that Aveda has an AMAZING damage remedy product that works amazingly!

I suggest one with a adjustable temperature maybe. Try to ask your friends to borrow theirs if they have one. Every brand may be different because of the plates. Some are ceramic, tourmaline, or even titanium.

I got my straightener from my salon. It costs a lot, but since my mom and I go there, we know the owner. So I got a great discount on my straightener. This is the one I have. http://i23.ebayimg.com/02/i/000/e1/2e/aedd_1.JPG

What is the best flat iron for really thick and really long hair?

Sedu or Chi :DWhat is the best flat iron for really thick and really long hair?
good qualities of a flat iron depend primarily on heat; some go to 250 F, but it is then takes longer to straighten. I know that curling irons that are good tend to have a ceramic barrel, so maybe a flat iron wit ceramic in it is good since it provides even distribution and penetration of heat to all the hair and can heat up instantly to 400 F. If you do your hair in sections and not all at once, you'll get better results. Maybe you should split your hair into more sections and do one section at a time. Hope this helped!!What is the best flat iron for really thick and really long hair?

chi is the best. They sell them at HEB and for 100 all you have to do is pay for the tax and you will have a great straighner. People always have negative stuff to say, dont buy a cheap straighner though because if you want the best chi is it, cheap will just turn out to a waste of money because it wont heat right or burn your hair.

CHI is greaattt, im a guy and i have one, and ive tried a couple flat irons and this one is the best! we have 3 flat irons in our house, and CHI is definately my favourite (and my personal one :D)... it costs about 95US, mine was 120 with taxes canadian, it depends on the salon you go to... i go to a very upscale one, and since ive been a loyal customer i got 20% off it.... so keep checking around, you will find it at a good price :)... i reccomend u buy it from a salon tho, so u can maintain a warranty.... but it is definately a good iron to have (y), wont leave ur hair looking like hair, itll give u straight, sleek and soft hair garaunteedWhat is the best flat iron to buy?
a Jose Eber straightener works really really well i have one and i will never use a different one it can also curl your hair and it stays straightend until you wash it. its really really good for your hair too. it brings out the shine and it stays shiny till you wash your hair. its 100 dollars but soooooo worth it! hoped it helped! :)
CHIs really are the best, and they're worth the price.

my best friend has super thick curly blond hair and she has a chi. she's had it for over a year, and it hasn't broken or anything and she straightens her hair almost every day.
CHI is probably the best, but it's kinda pricey, a GVP works just as good but doesn't cost quite as much, you can usually find those at Sally's Beauty Supply store.

i live in LA so you guys plz tell me where i can buy one that's actually good aorudn here? What is the best flat iron to buy?
I dont know what kind of hair you have, but mine is wavy and thick, if you want a good straightener and are willing to save up for a little while I suggest getting a CHI (they're about $40) there is also shampoo's and conditioner's that are CHI brand, they help make you style last longer I've found, I've never been to LA but if you have a Tradesecret around you I know they sell CHI's. If you do not want to spend that much for a straightener, I suggest looking at a local Salon. They usually sell hair products, and if they do not have straighteners, I'm sure that the stylists there can tell you where you can find a good one. If your hair is thin and just a little wavy, you may be able to use a non-ceramic straightener that you can find at a walmart or kmart. The different between ceramic and nonceramic is ceramic will make you hair softer and less frizzy if you have thicker hair.

FYI: If you use a straightner and blow 5 days a week, you may cause split ends from the heat. I suggest using a lower heat setting on you blow drier if you use high setting on you straightner. That will insure a longer period of time between split ends. Also, to prevent split ends from straightening, you may want to use extra condition on the ends of your hair, keep the extra conditioner away from you scalp to avoid a greasy look. What is the best flat iron to buy?

I have naturally curly hair and i want to wear it straight once in a while but I am new to doing this myself. I went to target and i didn't realize how many different kinds of flat irons there are to choose from. I need advice on what type is the best so i don't damage my hair and what brand works the best. Also I would like to know if there are any products to use to make my hair soft and smooth. Thanks in advance. What is the best flat iron type/brand?
omg don't use CHI!!!! the worst brand i've everrr used!!! and trust me, i've used a lot!! don't listen to the other people!! since your hair is curly and probably similar to mine the results will probably be similar. CHI took soo long to straighten!! and it would be all frizzy and kinky. other people might argue otherwise because their hair is a different texture.

i highly reccommend T3 Pro by Bespoke Labs!!! it's the best one i've used so far!! it works on wet and dry hair. makes your hair the softest, shiniest and healthiest it's ever been!!! at least for me. plus it's really fast at straightening!! it takes me 5-10 minutes!!! and i have verryy thick hair!! the temperature settings go up to 450 F!!! infared, tourmaline, and ceramic technology helps make your hair shiny soft and VERRRYY straight!! i love it!!! it even comes with styling cards and info as well as a storing and cleaning heat resistance pad.

    other good brands AFTER T3!!

in order from best to worst:

    - sedu

    - solia

    - Hai

    - GHD

don't buy CHI!!! waste of money and it's not that great!!! you could instead buy a T3 by Bespoke Labs which is great!!!

some good products to use are:

    - heat protecting spray- i reccommend Tressame heat creations. it makes your hair soft and shiny and smooth and it smells good and it gives great protection. i use this before i straighten. i spray it through my hair

    - smoothing serum- i use this to prep it for straightening. after i put on my heat protecting spray, i apply this through my hair to make it smooth and shiny. i wait for it to dry then i start straightening so after i finish, my hair is shiny and soft and less frizzy. i reccomend Biosilk Silk Therapy

    - straightening hairspray or regular hairspray- i use this after i straighten my hair to keep it straight in case of humidity or etc. i reccomend:

    - Herbal Essenses Pin Straight Hairspray. makes your hair straighter for longer

    - Garneir Fructis holding hairspray- healthy for your hair, smells good and good for holding if you want to style your hair afterwards.

    hope i helped!!! good luck!!!

the one i use is Wide single pass wet or dry. wet to dry does not damage your hair. as long as it was meant for it, your hair will be fine!!

they are all great quality though and totally worth the price. What is the best flat iron type/brand?
the best flat iron is CHI but that can cost 150 dollars...so i would suggest a vidal sassoon. i just got one by them and i love it. whatever you do DONT get a straighter slash curler or anything. and dont get one that goes from wet to dry. those kill your hair. your hair should always be dry or close to dry when you staighten it.

products you need would be a heat protectant. just about every brand makes one. they all work about the same i just got a pantene one and it makes my hair soft and protects from split ends. tresemee has a good one too. if your hair is curly then straightening it might cause you to get a bit of frizz. if that happens get an anti frizz product. those can make your hair soft too. i havent used any anti frizz things in a long time so i dont really know which ones work good now.

    hope i helped!
CHI. Definetly. However they run quite expensive, so if you don't want to invest that much money in this economy then I would recommend the Revlon kind.
I have tried alot of straighteners and my favorite is chi.

and you can but different hair protecters.

    (:

    good luck

What is the best flat iron for thick wavy hair?

Chi,Global Beauty, Bed Head, Ionic,Gold, or jilbere de paris? What is the best flat iron for thick wavy hair?
    Chi or Jilbere.

    I've used both.

They work just fine and get very hot which is good for your hair. I have thick wavy hair too and they work amazingly.

I recently use the Chi. Just don't get it from Target. Get it from a Professional hair store or something.

I know it's wierd but my cousin used to work at a place and they said the reason why target's stuff is so cheap is because they water down their products. and the Chi looks different from the one's from the Hair stores. Target's does not get as hot and they are the same model!

CONAIR=NOOOO!!!What is the best flat iron for thick wavy hair?
    i have Sedu Ionic. (:

    Works great.

    But conair sucks.
    Chi, hands down.
    Chi
    chi
    i personally love my chi

this website will give you some reviews to help you make your decision

I have really curly hair, so you should always use a ceramic flat iron..the 2 inch one or the 1 inch one, doesn't matter..I use the 1 inch. And when straightening pen half of your hair on top of your head and do half at a time. CHI is the best.
CHI and when you straighten put your hair up and take down sections of hair about 2 in wide and keep doing that until its all straightend
ionic or gold are both great

    Whats the best flat irons?

something thats not too expensiveWhats the best flat irons?
Well, Chi's and Sedu's are ver pricey, and since you have black hair, you may need to buy one of those.

maxiglide, it works great on my realy thik wavy/curled hair!

and it also does not damage my hair!

    i luv it =]

u can get it on QVC for about $60-$90
Revlon has a nice one. The ones with ceramic plates are worth the money. They make your hair smoother. I definitely saw a difference when I bought one with ceramic plates.
Ive tried so many flat irons! I found that the best well-priced flat iron is tourmaline. It gets hot fast and works really quick, even on quick hair. I wouldn't use conair if i were you, for me its really cheaply built and it will take you a long time to do your hair.
Chi is the best but its pretty pricy

Conair has a cheaper nice selection too.
    Baybliss is awsome!
I got an Andis one with adjustable heat and auto shut off from WalMart for about $20. I love it because it is the only one I could find that was reasonable but would get hot enough to actually straighten my hair. I went through a few before I found that one.
GHD's they are aound 拢80 but they are very good
yeah chi is good but its expensive

i have pro select i got it from a stand in a mall you can probably find it at any mall its the only straightner i found where my hair actually stays straight all day you can also use it to curl your hair i think i got mine at 110 but they give alot of people discounts
    Wet 2 Straight. :]
