What is the best flat iron to buy?

i was looking to buy something cheap that will give me the best results. the one i had just gave out. any suggestions?

i live in LA so you guys plz tell me where i can buy one that's actually good aorudn here?What is the best flat iron to buy?
I dont know what kind of hair you have, but mine is wavy and thick, if you want a good straightener and are willing to save up for a little while I suggest getting a CHI (they're about $40) there is also shampoo's and conditioner's that are CHI brand, they help make you style last longer I've found, I've never been to LA but if you have a Tradesecret around you I know they sell CHI's. If you do not want to spend that much for a straightener, I suggest looking at a local Salon. They usually sell hair products, and if they do not have straighteners, I'm sure that the stylists there can tell you where you can find a good one. If your hair is thin and just a little wavy, you may be able to use a non-ceramic straightener that you can find at a walmart or kmart. The different between ceramic and nonceramic is ceramic will make you hair softer and less frizzy if you have thicker hair.

FYI: If you use a straightner and blow 5 days a week, you may cause split ends from the heat. I suggest using a lower heat setting on you blow drier if you use high setting on you straightner. That will insure a longer period of time between split ends. Also, to prevent split ends from straightening, you may want to use extra condition on the ends of your hair, keep the extra conditioner away from you scalp to avoid a greasy look.What is the best flat iron to buy?

maxius deffinitely..i have one and its kinda pricey but good quality

www.maxius.com i think
Buy a Sedu 1.5 inch from folica.com
Get a Wigo Order then on line or try the Beauty Shop or Trade Secret
I received a Jilbere de Paris as a gift and it works wonderfully. According to my grandmother it is used in salons. It's really nice and has many different heat levels. It's narrow enough to get close to your head and you can use it on ANY hair type. She ordered it from a salon supply place, I don't know where. Sorry!
rather then going for brands..look for the types of plates

ceramic which some can run pretty decently priced..about 20 bucks if your not going for ';brand name';

you really dont want to get one of the 10 dollar conair metal plate ones because they are REALLY bad for your hair..(they do have some ceramic plate ones i believe)

youll also want one that allows you to adjust the heat settings..

you can find em at walgreens or walmart
Chi is very good if you can afford it (runs 120.00) or the maxiglide (I have it..it runs 80.00) but it works sooo good.
