My hair is semi-wavy and sometimes I like to have it straight. What is the best flat iron to get and what product should I get to put in my hair beforehand? What is the best flat iron to get and what product should I put in my hair before straightening?
My hair is just like yours! Although, mine is thick and you never said that. It's also very long! I don't own a straightener yet but I'm dying to have one. I still have to talk my mom into it. The best flat iron out there is the Chi. It is a little expensive but worth the cost. There are other ones out there, you just have to find the best one for your hair type (ha I have to also). If you are looking for a cheaper one, Conair straighteners work well too. It depends on how much you are willing to spend on one =D
Also, there is the InStyler! It's great but expensive. There is the Paris Hilton Celebrity Styler that is just like the InStyler but it's cheaper.
UPDATE: Sorry I forgot to answer your second question. You can use a protectant spray. There are also heat protectors to put in your hair. What is the best flat iron to get and what product should I put in my hair before straightening?
I'd suggest getting a GHD if you have the money, because it's relatively expensive at $200 a piece. If you don't (which most people don't) I'd suggest a CHI. Before applying ANY heat to your hair (hair dryer, straightener, curler, waver) you should put a heat protectant in like the 44 Iron Guard by CHI which I was able to find at Target. Hope I helped!
FHI brand is the best. I just found on on ebay this week for $50 and it came with a whole set with brush and clips and FHI brand bag for the iron. Normally they are at least $100, but they last for years and work like a charm. Use a hair serum to protect your hair from heat damage.
The Chi- and get the Chi thermal protectant spray. If you are looking to save money go to Sally's they have knock off for both of them.
